Teal Farm Play: privacy notice

Version 2026-10-v1

Short version: you can play with just a nickname. If you give us your email, it's so we can award you a prize. We'll only send you offers if you tick the box that says so, and you can stop them any time. We never sell your details.

Who we are

Teal Farm Pub, Edale Close, Washington NE38 8FH ("we"). We are responsible for the information collected by this game.

What we collect

Nickname you choose, and a random ID stored on your phone so you can reconnect.
Your answers and scores, including how fast you answered.
Email address, only if you choose to join the Teal Farm Club.
Your choices: that you confirmed you're 18 or over, whether you agreed to offer emails, the exact wording you agreed to, and the date and time.
If you use "Something not right?": your message, and your name, table number and phone number only if you choose to add them.
A scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address at the time you joined the Club, kept as a record of the consent. We don't store the address itself.

Why we use it

To run the game and show nicknames and scores on the pub TVs and leaderboards (our legitimate interest in running a free game for customers).
To check who won a prize and let them claim it (your email lets us contact or verify a winner).
To send you Teal Farm offers and event news by email, only if you ticked that box (your consent). Every email has an unsubscribe link.
To sort out any problem you tell us about with "Something not right?" (our legitimate interest in looking after customers).
To stop cheating and abuse (our legitimate interest).

The game is free. There's no purchase needed to play or win.

Who we share it with

Nobody, except the companies that host this game for us (Cloudflare) and, if you agreed to offer emails, the email service we use to send them, and the notification service that forwards "Something not right?" messages to the manager's phone. They only process it on our instructions. Nicknames and scores are shown publicly on the TVs and leaderboards, so don't use your real full name if you'd rather not.

How long we keep it

Email and consent records: until you unsubscribe, or 2 years after you last played, whichever comes first. After you unsubscribe we keep a minimal record that you did, so we don't email you again. Game scores: up to 2 years, then deleted or made anonymous. "Something not right?" messages: 6 months.

Asking for a review is never linked to points, prizes or entries.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. You can withdraw consent for offer emails at any time using the unsubscribe link. To do any of this, ask at the bar, contact us or write to Teal Farm Pub, Edale Close, Washington NE38 8FH. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).

Age

Anyone can play with a nickname. You must be 18 or over to join the Club with an email address.
